Canada Sanctions Israeli Settlers, Organizations

Canada has announced sanctions against seven Israeli individuals and five organizations due to their violent actions against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank. The sanctioned entities include Amana, Lehava, the Hilltop Youth, Moshe's Farm, and Zvi's Farm, all of which are involved in settlement activities. Key individuals targeted are Bentzi Gopstein and Daniella Weiss, known for their extremist views and actions. Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly emphasized the negative impact of settler violence on both Palestinian lives and the prospects for peace. These measures, following similar actions by the US and UK, prohibit dealings with these individuals and entities and render them inadmissible to Canada. Israel’s far-right leaders have condemned the sanctions, labeling them as antisemitic and politically motivated.
