UK Nationals in IDF Accused of Gaza War Crimes

A report accusing ten British citizens of committing war crimes while serving in the Israeli military in Gaza has been submitted to the Metropolitan Police. The 240-page dossier, prepared by UK lawyers and researchers, alleges targeted killings of civilians and aid workers, indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas, and forced displacement, all of which are categorized as war crimes or crimes against humanity. The report, commissioned by the Gaza-based Palestinian Center for Human Rights and the UK-based Public Interest Law Centre, covers events from October 2023 to May 2024. Legal constraints prevent the disclosure of the suspects’ names, who include officer-level individuals and dual nationals. Michael Mansfield KC, a prominent barrister involved in the report, emphasizes the UK's moral obligation to address illegal actions by its nationals abroad. Israel has consistently denied committing war crimes, attributing civilian casualties to Hamas's use of civilian infrastructure for military purposes.
