Woman arrested for stalking Joey Essex, sending 100,000 messages

A woman in her 30s has been arrested for allegedly stalking reality TV star Joey Essex, reportedly sending him over 100,000 messages, including threats against his then-girlfriend, Jessy Potts. The Cheshire Police confirmed the arrest and stated that the woman has been released on conditional bail, prohibiting her from contacting Essex or his family, and from traveling to London and Essex. Essex had previously reported the stalker to the police last August, expressing concern over the increasingly threatening nature of the messages. Sources close to Essex indicated he is relieved that the alleged stalker has been identified and appreciates the police's efforts. The messages included violent threats, with some directed at Potts, leading to heightened concern for their safety. Essex and Potts had met on Love Island but split in September 2022 due to their busy schedules.
