Alijah, a top basketball recruit committed to USC, lost control of his Tesla Cybertruck, which crashed into a fire hydrant and tree, leaving him trapped inside for about 10–12 minutes and exposed to smoke inhalation. Good Samaritans, described by Gilbert as 'angels,' helped rescue Alijah from the vehicle before emergency responders arrived. Despite the severity of the crash and the initial fears for his health, Alijah suffered no major injuries and retained his sense of humor throughout his recovery.
