McDonald's Adds Spicy Breakfast, Snack Wrap, Daily Double

McDonald’s is marking the 50th anniversary of the Egg McMuffin by launching three new spicy breakfast sandwiches featuring Spicy Pepper Sauce nationwide for a limited time starting July 8, 2025. The lineup includes the Spicy McMuffin, Spicy Sausage McMuffin, and Spicy Sausage McMuffin with Egg, offering a modern twist on the classic breakfast staple. The Egg McMuffin, invented by franchisee Herb Peterson and introduced nationwide in 1975, pioneered the fast-food breakfast category. The Spicy Pepper Sauce, previously only on daytime sandwiches, is now debuting on the breakfast menu. In addition to these spicy sandwiches, McDonald's is reintroducing the Snack Wrap and launching the Daily Double burger nationwide. These initiatives are part of McDonald’s broader strategy to refresh its menu, appeal to evolving consumer preferences, and boost breakfast sales.
