Muhammad Rizwan Set to Captain Pakistan's White-Ball Team

Muhammad Rizwan is poised to become Pakistan's new white-ball captain following Babar Azam's resignation to focus on his batting. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to announce the squad for upcoming tours in Australia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa shortly after the conclusion of the third Test against England on October 28. Rizwan's leadership experience in domestic cricket and the PSL, along with his reliability as a player, has made him the front-runner for the captaincy. The selectors, in consultation with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and head coach Gary Kirsten, are also considering the inclusion of senior players like Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Naseem Shah. Additionally, there is a push to introduce new talent to the squad, balancing experience with youth. Pakistan will play nine ODIs and nine T20Is, along with two Tests against South Africa before returning home.
