Kyle Singler Arrested After Alleged Assault, Attempted Rape

Former Duke standout and NBA player Kyle Singler was arrested in Haskell County (Whitefield), Oklahoma, after his girlfriend alleged he attempted to rape and assaulted her at an Airbnb where they were staying with their child present. The probable cause affidavit says the victim had hand-shaped marks and bruises consistent with being grabbed and pushed to the ground; deputies said Singler appeared under the influence of narcotics, did not fully cooperate, and the toddler was unharmed. Singler, 36, was booked in Haskell County and later released on bond. The arrest follows troubling social-media posts and reported mental-health struggles last year; Singler won a national title at Duke in 2010 and later played in the NBA for the Detroit Pistons and Oklahoma City Thunder before retiring.
