San Francisco Man Pleads Not Guilty Hit-And-Run Injures 5-Year-Old
Jonathan Lam, 35, has been charged with felony hit-and-run after critically injuring a five-year-old girl in San Francisco's Richmond District. On May 24, Lam allegedly struck the girl, who was riding her bike in a crosswalk with her mother walking a few steps behind, while driving a rented Jeep Wagoneer SUV, then fled the scene without stopping or providing assistance. The child was hospitalized in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Lam pleaded not guilty during his arraignment and was released on $100,000 bail. The San Francisco Police Department continues to investigate the case and encourages anyone with information to contact their tip line. Community members have expressed concern about driver behavior in the area, calling for increased police presence to improve safety.
