Gervonta Davis Sued for Battery, Kidnapping

Courtney Rossel filed a civil lawsuit in Miami‑Dade County accusing WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress over an alleged Oct. 27 attack at the Miami club where she worked. The complaint says Davis dragged her through a stairwell and back exits into a parking garage, grabbed, choked, pushed and struck her in the back of the head, and later sent texts Rossel interpreted as threats. Rossel alleges at least four prior incidents, including a September threat to kill, says she suffers from PTSD, and is seeking compensatory and punitive damages and a jury trial; her attorneys have also filed for a domestic‑violence injunction. A police report has been filed and the suit cites Davis’s prior arrests and a recently dropped domestic‑violence case. Davis’s camp was contacted and his trainer called the claims “nonsense.” The lawsuit emerged less than two weeks before Davis is due to face Jake Paul in an exhibition bout on Nov. 14 in Miami.
