Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Raise Prices Late October
Disney is raising prices for many Disney+ and Hulu plans in late October, with Disney listing Oct. 21 as the start date and some outlets reporting Oct. 23. The ad-supported Disney+ plan will jump $2 to $11.99/month and the ad-free Premium tier will rise $3 to $18.99/month; Hulu’s ad-supported plan also increases $2 to $11.99/month while Hulu Premium remains unchanged. Multiple bundles that pair Disney+ with Hulu, ESPN Select, HBO Max and live-TV tiers will increase by $2–$7 depending on the package — examples include a Disney+/Hulu bundle rising to about $12–$13/month and Hulu + Live TV climbing roughly $7 to near $90/month — and ESPN Select’s price will rise while ESPN Unlimited holds steady. The timing comes amid subscriber backlash and cancellations after Disney briefly suspended then reinstated Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and the hikes continue a pattern of near-annual increases since Disney+ launched in 2019 that helped the streaming division reach profitability last year. Disney says it is preparing a unified Disney+/Hulu app planned for 2026, while standalone subscriptions will remain available.
