Karma Automotive unveils Amaris coupe, plans production for 2026

Karma Automotive is making significant strides in the electric vehicle market with its upcoming model, the Amaris, a two-door coupe that showcases the company’s new Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) powertrain. Set to begin production in late 2026, the Amaris is designed for performance and luxury, featuring a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that allows for 0-60 mph in under 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 165 mph. The vehicle's design includes distinctive features such as a clamshell hood, swan doors, and 22-inch forged wheels, all crafted from lightweight materials like carbon fiber and aluminum. Alongside the Amaris, Karma is shifting its other models, including the Gyesera, to EREV configurations in response to evolving market demands. The company aims to expand its portfolio while reinforcing its commitment to innovation in electric performance vehicles. As it ventures into the coupe segment, Karma hopes the Amaris will redefine expectations for electrified luxury cars.
