WWE Sets SummerSlam, Evolution Main Event Storylines

On the July 4th episode of WWE SmackDown, Cody Rhodes, after his King of the Ring win over Randy Orton, set up a SummerSlam main event rematch against Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena, following their previous match at WrestleMania 41. Randy Orton, Rhodes' former mentor and recent finals opponent, encouraged Rhodes and asked him to promise a victory over Cena. Drew McIntyre returned to confront both Rhodes and Orton but was taken out by an RKO. In the women's division, champion Tiffany Stratton selected Hall of Famer Trish Stratus as her Evolution opponent, marking Stratus' first singles match in nearly two years. Queen of the Ring Jade Cargill also declared her intent for a title shot at SummerSlam. These developments advanced major rivalries and set the stage for both Evolution and SummerSlam events.
