Darshan Denied Bail; Murder Case Involves 17 Accused

The Bengaluru sessions court has denied bail to Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his friend Pavithra Gowda in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy, a fan of Darshan. The court cited evidence such as call detail records and DNA reports placing Darshan at the crime scene. Renukaswamy was reportedly abducted, tortured, and killed after sending obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda, which allegedly provoked Darshan and his associates. Although Darshan's counsel argued that there were delays in witness statements and questioned the evidence recovery, the court found these points insufficient to grant bail. The case involves 17 accused individuals, with a detailed 3,991-page charge sheet submitted to the court. While some of the accused have been granted bail, Darshan and Gowda continue to be held in judicial custody.
