Multiple U.S. Motorcycle Crashes Kill Riders

A series of separate motorcycle crashes across the U.S. over recent days have left multiple riders dead and several others critically injured, and many incidents remain under investigation. Fatalities include a 52-year-old man who died after a solo crash in Fairfield, Calif.; a motorcyclist who died after colliding with a truck on Bruce Street near Washington Avenue in Las Vegas; and a rider killed in Mooresville, Ind., when an SUV pulled into his path. In Gratiot County, Mich., 31-year-old Daniel Pupava was killed Oct. 2 while attempting to pass farm equipment that was turning into a field; his passenger was airlifted to Sparrow Hospital. In Louisville, police say a motorcyclist who was speeding and weaving on I‑265 lost control, struck a pole and was ejected; he died days later at UofL Hospital. Other crashes left riders hospitalized or critically injured — including incidents on I‑75 in Montgomery County, a 37‑year‑old critically injured after colliding with a Ram box truck in Nassau County, and a Kansas City motorcyclist critically hurt after running a red light — and authorities have warned of traffic impacts as investigations continue.
