Tigers Promote Top Prospects to Double-A Erie

The Detroit Tigers have promoted top prospects Max Clark, Kevin McGonigle, and Josue Briceño from High-A West Michigan to Double-A Erie, joining No. 5 prospect Thayron Liranzo to form a highly talented SeaWolves roster. All three promoted players are ranked among the Tigers' top four prospects and are listed in MLB Pipeline's Top 100. Clark, a 20-year-old outfielder, posted a .285 average with seven home runs and 49 runs scored in 68 games, while McGonigle, also 20, hit .372 with seven home runs in 36 games after a hot streak. Briceño also earned the promotion after a strong season. Meanwhile, 27-year-old Trei Cruz advanced from Double-A Erie to Triple-A Toledo, putting him a step from the majors. These moves are seen as important steps in the Tigers' long-term rebuilding process and player development strategy.
