Ipswich Town Plans £10M Marcelino Núñez Transfer from Norwich City

Marcelino Núñez is set to move from Norwich City to their East Anglian rivals Ipswich Town for a deal worth up to £10 million, including £7.5 million upfront and £2.5 million in bonuses. The 25-year-old Chilean midfielder, who joined Norwich from Universidad Católica in 2022 and has 30 international caps, is in the final year of his contract and has rejected two contract offers from Norwich. This transfer marks the first fee-based move between the two clubs since 2001 and is notable due to the rivalry between them. Ipswich, needing midfield reinforcements after several departures, view Núñez as a player with the technical ability to enhance their attacking play and control the game's tempo. Norwich plan to replace him with Pelle Mattsson from Silkeborg.
