HBO Max’s Conjuring Series Names Nancy Won Showrunner

HBO Max is developing a TV series based on The Conjuring franchise, with Nancy Won, known for her work on Jessica Jones and other Marvel projects, appointed as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Peter Cameron and Cameron Squires, also experienced Marvel writers, have joined the team to work on the script. The series will continue the story established in the films, particularly following paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga in the movies. Warner Bros. Television and James Wan’s Atomic Monster are producing the series, with Peter Safran as an executive producer. The announcement follows the strong box office performance of The Conjuring: Last Rites, which grossed over $194 million globally and marked the latest installment in the franchise. While plot, casting, and release details remain under wraps, the series is seen as a continuation of the expansive horror universe that includes multiple sequels and spin-offs.
