Parents Sue Curtis School Over Expulsion

The lawsuit claims that the school's decision, overseen by Head of School Meera Ratnesar, was arbitrary and lacked any evidence of policy violation or threats to other students. The expelled boy, described as a straight-A student with no prior behavioral issues, exchanged lyrics from YNW Melly's 'Murder on My Mind' with a friend, who also participated in the communication. The lawsuit highlights that the boy and the classmate continued to interact amicably after the email exchange and that the school failed to take action against the other student. The family's legal action seeks to reverse the expulsion and recover attorney fees, emphasizing that the school's response was unjustified. Curtis School has expressed disappointment over the litigation but refrained from commenting on the specifics of the case.
