Man, 33, charged with murder of 47-year-old Swansea woman
Matthew Battenbough, 33, has been charged with the murder of 47-year-old Leanne Williams, whose body was discovered at her home in Gomer Road, Townhill, Swansea, on February 27. A post-mortem examination revealed significant injuries consistent with an assault. Battenbough appeared at Swansea Magistrates' Court, where he did not enter a plea and has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance. Police are not pursuing charges against a 41-year-old man previously arrested in connection with the case. Detective Superintendent Mark O'Shea has urged the public to provide any relevant information, particularly regarding Williams' last known movements leading up to her death. The investigation remains active as authorities seek to gather further evidence and witness accounts.
