Apple Sues Over iOS 26 Trade Secret Leak

Apple has filed a lawsuit against Jon Prosser and Michael Ramacciotti, accusing them of orchestrating a scheme to obtain and leak confidential iOS 26 details prior to its official release. The complaint alleges Ramacciotti, a friend of Apple employee Ethan Lipnik, used Lipnik's passcode and location-tracking to access a development iPhone while Lipnik was away, then shared the software with Prosser via FaceTime. Prosser is accused of recording the call, creating YouTube videos and renderings that previewed features such as the 'Liquid Glass' UI, and offering Ramacciotti money or job prospects in exchange. The leaks were traced after an anonymous tipster recognized Lipnik’s apartment in the footage. Apple subsequently terminated Lipnik for failing to secure the device. Prosser denies orchestrating the leak and plans to contest the claims in court.
