Former Fort Worth Piano Teacher Sentenced 10 Years Child Indecency

Trent Austin Muse, a former piano teacher at Trinity Valley School in Fort Worth, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to five counts of indecency with a child by exposure involving at least five students during the 2022-2023 school year. Muse was arrested in June 2024 following reports that he exposed himself during private piano lessons over an eight-month period. Parents of additional victims have filed a lawsuit against Trinity Valley School, alleging the institution covered up abuse involving at least 16 girls aged 6 to 11 and failed to act appropriately after Muse’s firing in April 2023. The school states it promptly terminated Muse and reported the incident to Child Protective Services but is conducting a third-party investigation to address concerns regarding its handling of the situation. Many parents expressed dissatisfaction with the sentence length and the number of charges, believing more victims exist. Trinity Valley School has pledged to support affected families and improve policies to prevent future abuse.
