Multiple Former College Stars Join NBA Summer League Rosters
Several former college basketball players are earning opportunities to showcase their talents in the 2025 NBA Summer League, which runs from July 10 to July 20 in Las Vegas. Jaden Akins, an undrafted former Michigan State guard, will join the Orlando Magic alongside fellow Spartans Jase Richardson and Marcus Bingham Jr. Similarly, Brandon Huntley-Hatfield, a 6-foot-10 NC State player, also secured a spot on the Magic's Summer League roster. Former Penn State standout Andrew Funk signed with the Philadelphia 76ers for the Summer League after limited NBA playing time, aiming to revive his professional career. Creighton’s Jamiya Neal will represent the Charlotte Hornets in the Summer League, capitalizing on his playmaking improvements after transferring from Arizona State. Additionally, two former Iowa high school stars, Tytan Anderson and Patrick McCaffery, signed contracts to play for the New Orleans Pelicans and other Summer League teams, respectively, continuing their pursuit of NBA careers.
