In Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district, a major operation, dubbed 'Operation Bhediya', is underway to capture a pack of man-eating wolves that have terrorized local residents, resulting in the deaths of 10 individuals, predominantly children. Authorities have deployed over 300 personnel, drones, and infrared cameras in a multi-pronged effort to track and capture these wolves, with four already caught. Innovative methods, including using teddy bears soaked in children's urine as bait, have been introduced to lure the wolves into traps, although initial strategies, such as using human urine-soaked dolls, have proven ineffective. The situation has prompted government officials to warn residents to stay indoors at night and continue efforts to ensure safety. While the attacks have caused widespread panic and public unrest, the Chief Minister is actively monitoring the situation, with financial aid announced for victims' families. Despite no new attacks reported recently, the search continues amidst concerns that more wolves may be present in the area.
