Heaven Nightclub Security Guard Cleared of Rape Charges in UK Trial

Morenikeji Adewole, a 47-year-old security guard employed under a false identity at Heaven nightclub in London, was charged with raping a 19-year-old woman in his car near the club in November 2024. Court proceedings revealed that Adewole was in the UK on a five-year tourist visa that did not permit him to work, and he used fake identification documents to secure his job. The alleged victim was reportedly intoxicated and unable to give proper consent. Adewole denied the rape allegations, claiming the woman greeted and kissed him earlier that night, and stated he used false ID out of panic and to provide for his partner. After the jury deliberated for over six hours, they found Adewole not guilty of both rape and attempted rape charges. The case also highlighted the defendant's illegal work status and use of fraudulent documents, which he admitted to during the trial.
