Phoenix Police Vehicle Rolls Over Injuring Two Officers, Passenger
Shortly before noon on Oct. 18, a Phoenix Police Department Tahoe rolled onto its roof after a two-vehicle crash at 7th Avenue and Grant Street in downtown Phoenix. Preliminary findings from Phoenix police indicate the other vehicle ran a red light and struck the police vehicle, leaving the Tahoe overturned on its roof. Two officers and a third person (described variously as a passenger or an arrestee) were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries; the other driver was treated at the scene or reported unhurt. The roadway was closed while investigators processed the scene, and officials said they do not currently suspect impairment. The crash remains under investigation as local outlets continue to report the developing story.
