West Indies level series with record spin Super Over

In Dhaka, West Indies won a dramatic Super Over to level the three-match ODI series 1-1 after the match finished tied at 213 apiece. The tourists made history by bowling only spin in their 50 overs — five spinners (Akeal Hosein, Gudakesh Motie, Alick Athanaze, Roston Chase and Khary Pierre) each bowled 10 overs, producing a match total of 92 overs of spin. Bangladesh posted 213/7, led by Soumya Sarkar’s 45 and a late 39 off 14 from Rishad Hossain, while Motie (3 wickets), Hosein (2) and Athanaze (2 for 14) spearheaded the visitors’ attack. Chasing 214, West Indies finished 213/9 with Shai Hope unbeaten on 53 after a missed last-ball catch by Nurul Hasan sent the game to a Super Over. West Indies made 10/1 in the Super Over and, despite wides and a no-ball, Bangladesh could only manage 9/1, giving the tourists a one-run victory and setting up a deciding third ODI before a short T20 series.
