Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2025 Opens with 1,400 Exhibitors

The 34th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair opened with participation from 1,400 exhibitors representing 96 countries, highlighting its role as a major global platform for cultural dialogue and intellectual exchange. This year’s fair features over 2,000 activities and celebrates the 1,000th anniversary of Ibn Sina’s influential 'The Canon of Medicine' with dedicated panel discussions and the display of a rare 14th-century manuscript. The event also honors 'One Thousand and One Nights' as the 'Book of the World,' showcasing its enduring cultural impact, and presents rare literary treasures that reflect both Middle Eastern heritage and early cross-cultural encounters. The fair is marked by an expanded duration, debut participation from 20 new countries, and a tribute to pioneering Arab publishing houses for their contributions to the region’s intellectual legacy. Additionally, the Culture of the Caribbean Basin is featured as this year’s Guest of Honour, underscoring the event’s commitment to fostering global cultural partnerships.
