Railway Worker Detained for Stealing Detonators

A railway employee named Sabir has been detained by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for stealing and setting off 10 'harmless' detonators on the tracks, causing a military special train to halt briefly in Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred on September 18 between Nepanagar and Khandwa stations, and the detonators, which produce a loud sound to signal obstructions, led to the train stopping for a safety inspection. Sabir, who was reportedly drunk and not on duty during the incident, was charged under the Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act. Another staffer involved is being questioned. The detonators are typically issued to only a few government departments and were not officially given to Sabir. The RPF is investigating the motives behind the actions.
