Alabama Softball Wins NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional Opener, Shuts Out Jackson State

The Alabama softball team commenced the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional with a commanding 8-0 shutout victory over Jackson State, marked by dominant pitching from Emily Winstead and strong offensive support. Winstead allowed only one hit and struck out four over four innings, helping Alabama secure its 31st all-time NCAA Regional shutout and 20th run-rule victory. Offensively, Alabama produced a late-game surge, scoring four runs in the third inning and adding two runs each in the fourth and fifth innings, with key contributions from Kali Heivilin, Salen Hawkins, Brooke Ellestad, and Larissa Preuitt.
