The Wheeler Wildcats secured their 10th state championship in a thrilling 61-56 victory over the Newton Rams in the Georgia 6A finals. After leading by 14 points in the second quarter, Wheeler faced a tough challenge as they trailed heading into the fourth quarter. Junior Corben Landrew emerged as a key player, scoring the final 10 points for Wheeler, while head coach Larry Thompson celebrated his fourth state title at the school. This victory marks a significant achievement, as Wheeler becomes only the sixth school in Georgia history to win 10 or more state titles. The Wildcats finished the season with a remarkable 29-3 record and a 21-game win streak, showcasing their resilience and teamwork throughout the year.
