Newcastle United's striker Alexander Isak is a major doubt for the upcoming Premier League clash against Manchester City due to a broken toe. Isak, who played through pain with an injection in last week's defeat to Fulham, has not trained this week and will undergo a late fitness test. Manager Eddie Howe confirmed that although the injury sounds worse than it is, Isak’s participation depends on his pain tolerance. If Isak is unavailable, Anthony Gordon is expected to fill the central striker role despite playing differently from Isak and Callum Wilson. Additionally, Newcastle's full-back Matt Targett will miss the match due to a flare-up of eczema. The match at St James' Park is set for Saturday, with kickoff at 12:30 pm.
