Minnesota Lynx Advance to WNBA Finals
The Minnesota Lynx advanced to the WNBA Finals for the first time since 2017 by defeating the Connecticut Sun 88-77 in Game 5 of the semifinals. Napheesa Collier led the Lynx with 27 points and 11 rebounds, becoming the first player in WNBA history to record at least 25 points and 10 rebounds in three consecutive playoff games. The Lynx's strong defense held the Sun to 38.5% shooting and forced 19 turnovers, converting them into 22 points. Courtney Williams contributed significantly with 24 points and seven assists, while Kayla McBride added 19 points. The Lynx will face the top-seeded New York Liberty in the best-of-five finals series, having beaten them three times in four matchups this season, including the Commissioner's Cup. The finals series begins Thursday in Brooklyn, with Minnesota seeking its fifth championship title.
