Marcos Signs 2025 Budget for Philippines

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed the 2025 national budget into law, totaling P6.326 trillion ($109 billion), after vetoing P194 billion in appropriations deemed inconsistent with the government's priorities. This budget, which was initially proposed at P6.352 trillion, emphasizes education and public works while addressing public concerns over fiscal prudence. The vetoed items included P26.065 billion for public works and P168.240 billion in unprogrammed funds.
