Bruce Springsteen Releases Expanded Nebraska ’82 Box Set
Bruce Springsteen is set to release Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition, a five-disc box set that features the long-rumored Electric Nebraska sessions along with several previously unreleased tracks and solo outtakes from the era. The collection includes performances by members of the E Street Band and a newly remastered version of the original Nebraska album, as well as a newly shot performance film of the album recorded earlier this year at the Count Basie Theatre. Springsteen described the Electric Nebraska recordings as a punk rockabilly attempt to bring the acoustic Nebraska songs into an electric world, highlighting a stripped-down trio version of "Born in the U.S.A." originally written during the Nebraska sessions. This release coincides with the premiere of the Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, starring Jeremy Allen White, which focuses on the making of Nebraska and is set for cinematic release in October 2025. The box set offers fans an unprecedented look into the making of one of Springsteen's most iconic albums, emphasizing the lasting significance and narrative weight of the Nebraska songs. This follows Springsteen's earlier 2025 release of Tracks II, a collection of unreleased music spanning seven albums.
