Suspect Arrested in Fatal Columbia City Hit-and-Run
Seattle police arrested a 43-year-old man suspected of fatally striking 57-year-old Min Huang and seriously injuring her husband, Xing Chen, in a hit-and-run motorcycle crash at a Columbia City crosswalk on April 18. The suspect, who fled on a Honda Goldwing motorcycle after running a red light, was identified with the help of community tips and surveillance from a Metro bus. Min Huang died two days later from significant head trauma, while Chen is still recovering. The suspect was taken to Harborview Medical Center for an unrelated medical issue and will be booked into King County Jail on multiple charges, including vehicular homicide and fatal hit-and-run. Huang’s family offered a $20,000 reward, with an additional $1,000 from Crime Stoppers, for information leading to the arrest. Police have publicly thanked the community for their assistance.
