Girl Killed in Roseville DUI Crash

A tragic car crash in Roseville early Saturday morning resulted in the death of a 9-year-old girl and the arrest of a 36-year-old woman suspected of driving under the influence. The incident occurred around 5:20 a.m. when the woman lost control of her Hyundai Elantra, which became disabled in the fast lane of eastbound Interstate 80. After exiting her vehicle, she walked along the shoulder, leaving the Elantra unattended, leading to a collision with a Honda CR-V driven by a man from Fremont. The girl, a passenger in the CR-V, suffered major injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The California Highway Patrol has not yet released the identities of those involved but stated that traffic was diverted for approximately 40 minutes during the investigation.
