Podziemski Eyes Leadership Amid Green's Warning
As the Warriors head into 2025-26, 22-year-old Brandin Podziemski has said he wants to be a bridge to the franchise’s future and to earn the veterans’ trust. Podziemski told The Athletic he hopes Stephen Curry and Draymond Green will vouch to owner Joe Lacob and GM Mike Dunleavy that he can carry on the team’s standard. Green praised Podziemski’s confidence but warned — “be careful” and “don’t tell people too much” — advising caution about public declarations. Podziemski, coming off an All-Rookie nod and averaging roughly 10.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists, appears to be locked into a larger role though team leaders say it isn’t his time to fully take the torch. If Curry and Green remain healthy, the Warriors view themselves as contenders while gradually grooming Podziemski for more responsibility.
