Andhra Pradesh police arrested former YSR Congress Party MP Nandigam Suresh in Hyderabad for his involvement in the 2021 attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office, a case that has recently gained attention following the dismissal of his anticipatory bail petition by the High Court. Suresh was taken into custody around 1 am on Thursday and subsequently transferred to Mangalagiri police station, where multiple charges including attempt to murder were filed against him. The attack occurred after derogatory comments made by TDP spokesperson Pattabhiram Kommareddy about then Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy prompted YSRCP supporters to ransack the TDP headquarters. The High Court also dismissed similar bail petitions from other YSRCP leaders involved, leading to a police search for those named in the case. This arrest comes amid a broader investigation into political violence following the TDP's recent return to power alongside its allies, Jana Sena and BJP.
