While the Albanian government covers Adams' lodging and ground transportation expenses, the city pays for his airfare and other costs, with security arrangements facilitated by hosting accommodations. Adams' trip includes meetings with Albanian government officials, business leaders, and tours of local factories, reflecting New York City's significant Albanian-American community. City Hall insists the trip is part of Adams' mayoral duties, dismissing speculation that it relates to potential future job opportunities or ambassadorships. Adams' son, Jordan Coleman, a musician who previously performed in Albania, is not accompanying him on the trip.
