Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid Attacked During Campaign

The campaign vehicle of Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid was attacked in the Langate area of Kupwara district on the final day of electioneering, with an assailant stomping on the bonnet and shattering the front windshield. Rashid, who was in the vehicle during the incident, escaped unharmed. A video of the attack circulated on social media, showing the assailant, reportedly a former aide of Rashid who had a falling out with him, damaging the car. Rashid's Awami Ittehad Party has not yet commented on the incident. This attack occurred alongside the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, which have been marked by heightened security due to recent terrorist activities. The elections are particularly significant as they are the first since the abrogation of Article 370, featuring a competitive landscape among various political parties.
