Despite the incident, Auburn managed to secure a significant win against No. 4 Houston with a 74-69 victory, thanks to standout performances from Johni Broome and Tahaad Pettiford. Coach Bruce Pearl acknowledged the incident but chose not to elaborate, focusing instead on the team's strong performance. Subsequently, Auburn continued their winning streak by defeating Kent State 79-56, led by Johni Broome and Chaney Johnson. The Tigers, playing in front of a sold-out home crowd, overcame a sluggish start but maintained their perfect season. Auburn is preparing for upcoming games against North Alabama and Iowa State at the Maui Invitational.
