Queen Mary of Denmark visits Tasmania for family holiday

Queen Mary of Denmark has made a low-key visit to her native Tasmania for a family holiday, where she was spotted shopping at the Salamanca Market. The 53-year-old royal appeared relaxed during her outing, blending in with locals and tourists. While she was seen alone, her husband King Frederik and their three youngest children are believed to be accompanying her on this private trip. This visit marks her first return to Tasmania since she ascended the throne in January 2024, following her niece's wedding last November. Mary, born in Hobart, is commemorating the anniversary of her father-in-law Prince Henrik's passing during this trip. Her eldest son, Crown Prince Christian, is acting as regent in Denmark while the family is away.
