Teacher Arrested for Alleged Sexual Abuse

Laura Caron, a 34-year-old former elementary school teacher in Middle Township, New Jersey, has been arrested for allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old former student, resulting in the birth of a child. The alleged abuse occurred between 2016 and 2020, during which the victim lived with Caron and his siblings. The investigation was prompted by a social media post from the victim's father in December 2024, who noted a resemblance between Caron's child and his son. Witnesses, including the victim's siblings, reported instances of inappropriate behavior, including the victim sleeping in Caron’s bed from the age of 11. Caron faces multiple charges, including aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, and is currently being held at the Cape May County Correctional Center. The Middle Township School District has placed her on paid administrative leave while cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
