Daytime Emmys: Deborah Norville Honored, General Hospital Leads

The 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and hosted by Mario Lopez. Deborah Norville received the Lifetime Achievement Award, and new categories introduced included Outstanding Emerging Talent, Culinary Cultural Series, and Outstanding Regional Content. General Hospital led the night with seven wins; notable individual winners included Paul Telfer (Outstanding Lead Performance, Days of Our Lives), Susan Walters (Outstanding Supporting Performance, The Young and the Restless), and Lisa Yamada (Outstanding Emerging Talent, The Bold and the Beautiful). Other program winners included You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment (Outstanding Lifestyle Program) and Hack Your Health: The Secrets of Your Gut (Outstanding Main Title and Graphic Design). On the red carpet and in an acceptance speech, Nancy Lee Grahn used accessories and remarks to urge support for democracy and encourage voting.
