Norwegian Cruise Line Adds 20 Norfolk Visits in 2027 Expanding Regional Tourism

Norwegian Cruise Line will significantly expand its presence in Norfolk, Virginia, with the Norwegian Pearl scheduled to make 20 weekly port calls between April and August 2027 as part of 7-night Bermuda itineraries. These visits will bring approximately 49,000 additional guests and 1,000 crew members to the city, enhancing Norfolk's profile as a key port of call and boosting the local economy through passenger spending on tours, dining, and retail. The Norwegian Pearl, homeporting from Philadelphia, will complement year-round cruises already offered by Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Sunshine from Norfolk, which has welcomed over 180,000 passengers in 2025. Nauticus, which operates the Half Moone Cruise & Celebration Center, highlights the growing economic impact of these cruise operations, noting the broadening appeal of Norfolk as a cruise destination. Other cruise lines, including Holland America, Princess Cruises, and upscale brands like Regent Seven Seas and Viking, are also scheduled to visit Norfolk in the coming years. This expansion marks one of the largest port-of-call commitments in Norfolk’s history and underlines the city’s increasing importance in the cruise industry.
