Jury Selection Begins in Fravel Murder Trial

Jury selection has commenced for Adam Fravel, who faces first- and second-degree murder charges in the death of Winona mother Madeline Kingsbury, with the trial relocated to Mankato due to concerns over pre-trial publicity. Fravel is currently being held on a $3 million cash bond, and both the prosecution and defense have identified over 150 witnesses for the case. Meanwhile, in Alabama, jury selection is also beginning for William Chase Johnson, charged with the capital murder of Lowndes County Sheriff John Williams, who was killed in 2019. Johnson, who has pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect, is facing the death penalty if convicted. His trial will be held in Macon County after a judge ruled a fair trial could not be conducted in Lowndes County due to the high regard for the sheriff in the community.
