Search Ends in Tragedy: Boy Found Dead

An 8-year-old autistic boy, Lionel Ramirez Cervantes, was found dead in a pond after running away from Bell's Crossing Elementary School in Simpsonville, South Carolina. He went missing around 11 a.m. on Thursday and was last seen running into a field with tall grass. Despite immediate pursuit by school staff and an extensive search involving law enforcement and community volunteers, his body was discovered around 3 p.m. by a dive team.
