Netflix Announces FTX Limited Series Starring Julia Garner, Anthony Boyle

Netflix has greenlit an eight-episode limited series titled "The Altruists," which dramatizes the rise and fall of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX and the intertwined stories of its key figures, Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison. Julia Garner will star as Caroline Ellison, while Anthony Boyle will portray Sam Bankman-Fried, with both actors also serving as executive producers. The series explores how these two ambitious idealists attempted to revolutionize the global financial system before becoming embroiled in an $8 billion fraud scandal. Co-showrunners Graham Moore and Jacqueline Hoyt lead the project, with James Ponsoldt directing the first episode and also executive producing. The production involves notable collaborators such as Higher Ground Productions and Vox Media Studios, continuing their successful partnerships with Netflix. This marks Garner's third major Netflix series following her acclaimed roles in "Ozark" and "Inventing Anna."
