Nottingham has unveiled 'The Green Heart', a new green space featuring 38 trees and various planting areas, aimed at enhancing urban nature and connectivity between the train and bus stations. Funded by the Department for Transport’s Transforming Cities fund, this initiative follows previous area regeneration efforts, transforming Collin Street into a pedestrian-friendly space. Meanwhile, Cardiff is planning the first phase of its Crossrail project, set to connect Cardiff Central Station with Cardiff Bay by early 2029. This tram project aims to link deprived communities to the railway network, with public consultations currently underway. The long-term vision includes extending the tramway to cover 17 miles with multiple stops, enhancing transportation across the city. Initial funding has been secured for the first phase, which entails building new tram stations and upgrading existing rail lines.
