In ongoing counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have neutralized two terrorists affiliated with the Jaish-e-Mohammad group in the Kathua-Basantgarh border area of Udhampur. This brings the total number of terrorists killed in the Jammu region this year to ten. The operation, based on specific intelligence, was launched by the Rising Star Corps of the Indian Army and local police. A large cache of arms, including an AK-47 and a US-made M4 carbine, was recovered. Meanwhile, a BSF personnel was injured in unprovoked firing from Pakistan in the Akhnoor sector. These developments come just days before the region's assembly elections, scheduled to take place in three phases starting September 18.
